In a strategic move aimed at strengthening its high-end positioning in the Asian market, Emirates announces the extension of its exclusive chauffeur-driven car service. This premium offer, already popular with customers, will now be available at two major Japanese airports: Tokyo-Narita (NRT) and Osaka-Kansai (KIX). This initiative marks a significant milestone for the airline, confirming its commitment to offering a seamless, exceptional travel experience, from gateway to final destination.
Luxury connectivity extended to Japanese airports
From February 1, 2026, passengers travelling in First class and in Business class departing from Narita International Airport will be able to benefit from Emirates' Chauffeur-drive service. This service will also be extended to Kansai International Airport from March 1, 2026. These two hubs join Tokyo-Haneda airport, where the service is already operational. Emirates is now the only international airline to offer this level of service free of charge at Japan's three main airports.
Door-to-door service for unrivalled peace of mind
This chauffeur-driven car service is much more than a simple transfer. It embodies a true extension of the Emirates experience, guaranteeing a comfortable, stress-free journey between the customer's home, office or hotel and the airport. The objective is clear: to offer seamless continuity of travel, eliminating logistical constraints and allowing passengers to concentrate on their project, whether for business or pleasure.
Service details and geographical coverage
In Japan, every Emirates chauffeur-driven car trip includes coverage of up to 100 kilometers. This distance is calculated according to the shortest route between the airport and the pick-up or drop-off address. Beyond this perimeter, a surcharge of 500 yen per kilometer will be applied, plus applicable taxes. Payment is made directly to the driver, in cash (yen) or by credit card.
From Narita, the service will cover Tokyo's 23 wards, as well as large parts of Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama and Kanagawa prefectures. In Kansai, it will serve Osaka intra-muros and the majority of areas in Osaka, Nara, Kyoto and Hyogo prefectures, including the region's major urban and tourist hubs.
Excellence on the ground, a reflection of in-cabin service
The extension of Chauffeur-drive is part of Emirates' global strategy to offer an exceptional customer experience at every level. This ground service complements the airline's already premium offering, including access to the Emirates lounge located in Tokyo-Narita's Terminal 2. This lounge, inaugurated in 2015, was the airline's first dedicated lounge in Japan, offering catering, beverages, workspaces and showers to ensure a seamless transition between flight and stay.
A modern fleet and a commitment to the Japanese market
Emirates now serves Japan's three main international airports: Haneda, Narita and Kansai. The company operates flights, notably in Airbus A380 on Tokyo-Narita, offering a full range of cabins, including First Class, Business Class and Economy Class. This reinforcement of ground service underlines the strategic importance of the Japanese market for Emirates, and its desire to consolidate its image as a premium carrier on the Japan-Gulf route.
With this service now available in over 70 cities across its global network, Emirates confirms its strategy of differentiation through excellence in customer service, particularly for high-contribution travelers.
