Swiss posts historic gains despite fewer flights
A favorable revenue environment despite challenges
The Swiss airline, which has been able to take advantage of high airfares and minimized expenses, posts an unprecedented financial result. With major works in the pipeline, the company has to navigate in a complex environment.
In the first three quarters of the year, Swiss posted an impressive profit of 615.9 million Swiss francs. This figure marks a record in the company's twenty-year history. The last peak in profitability, which came close to this level, was recorded just before the global health crisis, but then concerned the entire fiscal year. In fact, Swiss is expected to surpass its previous record even before the end of the year, despite the traditional end-of-year downturn in the aviation industry.
The company, which belongs to the Lufthansa Group, must nevertheless tackle a series of major projects despite this remarkable financial performance. It should be noted that these results come at a time when the company is operating fewer flights than in the period prior to the health crisis.
