Travelers in some parts of the world, France in particular, are happy with the reduced cost of airline tickets. In the summer of 2021, ticket prices have fallen considerably for both internal and external destinations. In addition to the various interpretations of the situation by the players involved, several other factors may be behind this notable change. So why are ticket prices at their lowest this summer 2021?

To revitalize a shy post-COVID-19 clientele

Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, almost every company in the world has experienced a severe downturn in revenues. Airlines have not been spared. Lowering prices is therefore a strategy to restore their image. The respective measures taken by governments to curb the problem have limited the room for maneuver associated with ticket prices. In other words, discounts on tickets are a way of attracting a minimum number of customers. This commercial policy enables companies to avoid the risk of large losses, or even bankruptcy.

On top of all this, there is widespread concern about the new form of coronavirus, the delta variant. This damning discovery contributes further to the fall in ticket prices this July 2021 to several destinations. These include France, with Nice as the target city, Portugal, Spain, Malta and many others. The current ticket price situation can also be used as a stimulus indicator.

To encourage travellers

After the troubled times experienced by many countries, the disease situation is generally becoming less worrying than before. This means that everything is increasingly returning to normal. This is the time when travel agencies, airlines and all related companies are making huge efforts to boost their customer bases.

According to studies by some ticket comparison sites, the drop ranges from 30 to 48% in July 2021. It could reach 60% to Faro in Portugal in August 2021. In this country, the delta variant is rife. This is why the States strongly advise against this destination for summer holidaymakers in 2021. In any case, low ticket prices continue to motivate many to take to the skies once again.

To attract summer vacationers

Summer is a time when holidaymakers' mobility is almost at an all-time high. This is why the current reduction in ticket prices meets their expectations. As long as the destination is not compromised by health measures, holidaymakers can't wait to catch their low-cost flight. For airlines, this is no longer a time for massive gains, but for preparing future days to make up for lost opportunities. With this in mind, summer vacationers and other travelers can easily return to normal fares when the time comes.

In short, bills have fallen because the course of life from 2019 to date has undergone an abrupt change.
