Emirates takes a new step in its offer to Canada by introducing its cabin Premium Economy on the Dubai-Montreal route. This major development is accompanied by the arrival of the latest aircraft, the’Airbus A350, on this strategic route. This change not only marks a significant improvement in passenger comfort, but also underlines Emirates' desire to strengthen its position in the Canadian market, by leveraging codeshare agreements, notably with Air Canada, to extend its connectivity to Asia and the Middle East.

Since the beginning of February 2026, daily flight EK243/EK244 between Dubai and Montreal has been operated by an Airbus A350, replacing the Boeing 777 previously used. The new aircraft departs Dubai at 02:45, arriving in Montreal at 07:35. The return flight leaves Montreal at 10:40 a.m., landing in Dubai at 8:00 a.m. the following day. Montreal thus becomes the first destination in Emirates' North American network to benefit from this new aircraft and its innovative configuration.

Premium Economy: a new travel experience in Canada

The introduction of Premium Economy on the Canadian market represents a new segmentation of the offer. Positioned between Economy and Business class, this cabin aims to offer a significantly superior travel experience. Emirates describes it as «comparable to the business class of many airlines», emphasizing increased space and high-end features. On the A350, Premium Economy seats are designed for optimum comfort, with quality materials such as leather, a steeper recline and improved leg rests.

The configuration of the A350 assigned to this route is designed for a total capacity of 312 passengers, distributed as follows: 32 seats in Business class, arranged 1-2-1 for greater intimacy, 28 seats in Premium Economy, and 238 seats in Economy class. Business class itself has been redesigned to offer greater privacy, with seats convertible into beds, a minibar and wireless recharging options. Emirates« renowned »ice" entertainment system is also upgraded on the A350, featuring 13.3-inch 4K touch screens.

A strategic challenge for connectivity

In parallel with the introduction of the A350 to Montreal, Emirates continues to operate its iconic A380 on the daily service to Toronto. This dual presence on the two main Canadian gateways testifies to the strategic importance of this market for the company.

In addition, the code-share with Air Canada is an essential lever. It gives Emirates customers access to an extended network of 37 additional destinations in Canada and the United States, departing from Montreal and Toronto. This collaboration strengthens Emirates' appeal to North American travellers wishing to explore Asia, Africa or the Middle East, while facilitating access to Canada for international passengers.

The arrival of the Airbus A350 and Premium Economy class on Montreal positions Emirates as a key player in the transatlantic air transport offer, promising an enhanced travel experience and expanded connectivity for passengers.
