While it's easy enough to get a visa for many countries, it's more complex for some, like Russia. Applicants should be patient and courageous.

The most difficult visas to obtain

This fact applies first and foremost to the United States. Entering this country is a real obstacle course for many foreigners. India and China are also concerned, as it is quite difficult to obtain entry authorization. This pattern is repeated in Algeria and Tanzania which make it difficult for tourists and businessmen to enter their territory. Vietnam is also very vigilant when it comes to entry permits, and doesn't let a missing stamp go unnoticed.

North Korea undoubtedly remains the only country not to issue entry permits. Getting one is quite rare and requires patience. It's also very difficult to enter Russia. As in Uzbekistan, entry visas are obtained by official invitation (although an invitation from your hotel will suffice). Other countries, such as Bhutan, Sudan, Nauru and Kiribati, issue visas with difficulty.

Why are these visas so rare?

The reasons why countries choose to restrict travellers vary. In Bhutan, the aim is to minimize the impact of tourism on the carbon footprint. which is very important in this country. To visit this country, you will need to contact the Bhutanese embassy in France, which will then issue you a visa after you have provided precise information about your stay.

For the duration of the tour, you must be accompanied by a guide. Sudan, for its part, has difficulty issuing visas to guarantee the safety of travellers. It is quite difficult to get out of the state of Khartoum and into the surrounding regions, which can be quite dangerous. Other countries, such as the USA and Russia, prefer to limit the number of visas issued to ensure that immigration is not too high. It's also a question of keeping an eye on the number of people entering the country.
