Summer 2025, Finnair is strengthening its network of flights to the United States by increasing the frequency of its routes. Chicago will benefit from daily service, while Dallas will have up to 11 flights a week. Seattle and Los Angeles will see two additional weekly services. In Asia, the company is responding to growing demand for Japan with an increase in flights to Tokyo Narita. Christine Rovelli emphasizes that this expansion optimizes Finnair's connectivity to North America and beyond, opening doors to new destinations through strategic partnerships.

In the summer of 2025, Finnair has decided to expand its network of transatlantic connections to the United States, as well as intensifying its routes to Asia, offering more options to travelers in search of an international adventure. This ambitious strategy is part of the company's efforts to strengthen its global position, notably offsetting the sluggishness of the Europe-Asia market. Increased routes and new on-board experiences await passengers this summer.

Expansion of flights to the United States

In an effort to increase its presence in North America, Finnair plans to make its flights to several major U.S. cities even more accessible. From summer 2025 onwards, the company will offer a service to Chicago. At the same time, travelers will be able to enjoy a maximum of 11 flights a week to DallasThis means a significant increase in frequencies over the previous summer. As for Seattle and Los Angeles, these destinations will each benefit from two additional weekly flights. This expansion is accompanied by new forms of collaboration with American Airlines and Alaska Airlines, offering a multitude of convenient connections beyond the major US hubs.

Strengthening services to Asia

On another front, Finnair is focusing on expanding its Asian network. In response to growing demand from French travellers, particularly to Japan, the company plans to increase flights to Tokyo Narita. This bold strategy will enable Finnair to respond effectively to the preferences of travellers seeking immersion in Japanese culture, while consolidating its hub between Europe and Asia. Beyond this, the company continues to strengthen its key Asian destinations, maintaining a successful operation during the summer season.

A forward-looking vision

Under the leadership of Christine Rovelli, Finnair's Chief Revenue Officer, the company has identified a significant growth opportunity by focusing its service extensions on strategic international markets. In addition to meeting strong demand for transpacific and transatlantic destinations, Finnair plans to enhance the passenger experience through the introduction of redesigned seats in business class and the creation of a new premium economy class. This approach heralds a promising future for the airline, as it aims to consolidate its competitive edge in the face of dwindling Europe-Asia routes.
