2024 was an exceptional year for EuroAirport, located on the French-Swiss-German border. Significant growth in air traffic
In 2024, EuroAirport recorded a total of 94,124 air movements, a jump of 6.6 % on 2023. Of these, 73,924 were commercial flights, an increase of 7.2 % on the previous year. Although this still falls short of the figures already achieved in 2019, the infrastructure is gradually regaining momentum.
A diversified portfolio of destinations
This success is due in part to the varied range of 30 airlines operating from the EuroAirport. The year 2024 saw the addition of Oslo and Dubai to an already impressive list of 100 destinations, mainly in Europe and around the Mediterranean basin. This diversity of choice is attracting a growing number of travellers, curious to discover new horizons.
Ambitious expansion plans: the EMT project
Faced with this growing influx of passengers, EuroAirport has launched a project called "EMT (Modular Terminal Evolution), an ambitious plan to expand and modernize the terminal's infrastructure. The first module, dubbed "Landside", calls for the construction of a new 14,000 m² building on the eastern side of the terminal, as well as the renovation of 15,000 m² of existing space. Construction is scheduled to start in 2027, with completion expected by 2030/2031.
Continuous improvement of service quality
Pending full implementation of the EMT project, EuroAirport is striving to improve the quality of its service through a targeted action plan, some initiatives of which have already been completed, such as the renovation of the Arrivals levels. Others, such as the redevelopment of the catering areas, are underway. The future will also see the renovation of sanitary facilities, new signage, and improved boarding areas, to better meet customer expectations.
Growing international influence
EuroAirport continues to rank as one of France's top airports, as shown by the report on the French airports. In 2024, traffic was close to the record levels seen before the health crisis, auguring well for its future.
