Considered the largest country in Latin America and the fifth largest in the world, Brazil is known for its sunny beaches and breathtaking natural sites. To enjoy a pleasant stay and discover the riches of this country, it's essential that you visit these must-see cities.

Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is one of Brazil's most beautiful cities. Indeed, it is characterized by a marvellous monumental work of art, none other than the great and magnificent statue of Christ. It stands atop the Corcovado hill. The monument is also considered one of the country's icons.

However, the statue was inaugurated in the 1930s and is a real attraction for most tourists. Many like to climb the hill to get a closer look. If you like, you can start by taking a funicular up to the top of the sculpture. Afterwards, all you have to do is continue along the path for about 30 m to reach the top.

At an altitude of almost 710 metres, you'll have a panoramic view of the whole city. From the hill, you can see Guanabara Bay and many other landmarks. It's a building that lets you explore the landscape of almost any city.

Porto Alegre

Porto Alegre is one of Brazil's most beautiful cities. In fact, it is one of the greenest cities in the country. As such, this region is home to some of the largest urban parks. There are 9 in all, and they are a must-see attraction for most tourists. Then there's the city's biological reserve, located not far from the beach in the Lami district. Its charm lies in its magnificent neo-classical architecture.

Sao Paulo

It would be intolerable to talk about Brazil's most beautiful cities without mentioning Sao Paulo. Indeed, it is considered the largest existing urban city in the South. What's more, it's the fifth-largest conurbation in the world. It is often compared to cities such as Mexico City, Tokyo or Shanghai, which are renowned for their abundant population, although it is less populated than the latter. On the other hand, the city abounds in a panoply of wonders that will make you want to return.

Belem

Belem is one of the most beautiful cities in Brazil, and its location makes it a must-see. It's not far from the Amazon and its lush forests. In fact, this large city is located in the north of Brazil, on the Bay of Guajara. It lies at the mouth of the Tocantins and Para rivers.

However, most of the town's economic activities are based on its proximity to the sea. In addition, its industrial port is the driving force behind the city's economic, social and cultural life. The Atlantic Ocean stretches for hundreds of kilometers. The city's old port warehouses have been converted into lively cafés and restaurants.
