Wizz Air links Paris-Beauvais to Varna, new gateway to the Black Sea

The low-cost airline Wizz Air announces the opening of a new summer route linking the airport of Paris-Beauvais à Varna, a Bulgarian coastal town renowned for its Black Sea beaches. The new route will be operational from June 17, 2026, and will offer twice-weekly flights, a frequency designed to suit both short stays and extended vacations.
Flights between Paris-Beauvais (BVA) and Varna (VAR) will operate every Wednesday and Sunday. Tickets are already available for sale on the Wizz Air website, with promotional fares starting at €39.99 one-way. This offer enables French travelers to easily reach a popular seaside destination in Bulgaria, while offering Bulgarian residents direct and affordable access to the Paris region.
Stronger links to Bulgaria
At present, direct flight options from Paris-Beauvais to Bulgaria are mainly limited to the capital Sofia. Ryanair operates around four flights a week, while Wizz Air offers around two rotations a week. The opening of the route to Varna by Wizz Air fills a gap on the coast, offering a direct alternative for travellers wishing to explore this part of Bulgaria.
Data from flight comparators such as Bourse-des-Vols show that fares to Bulgaria remain competitive, often starting at around €20-40 one-way (excluding baggage and seat options) depending on promotions and periods. These fares are valid from Paris-Beauvais and other provincial cities.
Wizz Air expands its presence at Paris-Beauvais
Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air consolidates its position at Paris-Beauvais airport. Its network, already focused on Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans, is expanding. For summer 2026, Wizz Air will also add routes to Târgu Mureș in Romania and continue service to Yerevan in Armenia. At the end of March 2026, the airline will also link Paris-Beauvais with Podgorica (Montenegro) and Tuzla (Bosnia-Herzegovina). With these new additions, Wizz Air is approaching the number of scheduled destinations from Paris-Beauvais.
Varna, a growing hub for Wizz Air
The airport of Varna is part of Wizz Air's ambitious expansion plan. For summer 2026, the company will base a third Airbus A320 aircraft there, enabling the addition of five new direct routes: Barcelona, Athens, Paris-Beauvais, Debrecen and Gdańsk. In all, Wizz Air will offer 23 destinations from Varna, providing 500,000 additional seats and creating almost 400 local jobs. This growth confirms Varna's role as a major air gateway on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast.
